Banquets for the 2007 Parade

For Banquet Agendas, please see the agenda document in the E-Packet

Your Parade meal plan includes the following meals:

Pirelli Welcome Party -- Sunday

The Welcome Party is a courtyard, pool side event at the host hotel, taking advantage of the great weather we have in San Diego.  It begins with happy hour at 5:00, moving on to a German buffet.  All your favorites will be here, from bratwurst to strudel, and of course, good local beer. (There will also be a kids buffet, for the little Porsche fans in your family.) After dinner, there will be music and dancing under the stars to the great sounds of San Diego's premier band, Rockola.  Don’t miss this chance to catch up with friends you may not have seen in the last year in San Diego’s perfect climate.

Things to know:
  1. Outdoor seating.
  2. Kid pricing is available.
  3. Casual dress.

Porsche Concours Lunch -- Monday

A delicious box lunch will be served at the Admiral Baker Golf Course and Recreation Facility, during the Concours D'Elegance.  Pull up a bench underneath a shady tree, or enjoy it next to your favorite automobiles. Either way, there will be plenty to do and see at this "can't miss" event. This is a beautiful, scenic setting and a great way for you to continue catching up with old friends and see the fantastic automobiles.

Things to know:
  1. Transportation will be provided.
  2. Outdoor seating.
  3. For more information, please see the Concours page.

Porsche Concours Banquet  -- Monday

After the concours we will be returning to the hotel for our fanciest feast of the week.  Starting at 6 PM, we will again have a social hour before we move into the largest ballroom at the Town & Country.

Things to know:
  1. Dress code is black-tie optional.
  2. Parade Wine glasses will be distributed here, not at the Victory Banquet.

Beach Party -- Tuesday

Today we cast off the tuxedo's,  grab the flip-flops and head for the beach.  With many great activities, this is an event for the entire family. An afternoon of fun and frolic in the waves and on the wide white sand beaches of Coronado Island awaits you, followed by a buffet with local flavor and flair -- Mexican!  Of course there will also be a kid friendly items as well.

Major Events at the Beach Party:

  • Yokohama Awards Buffet
  • Shell Zone Challenge

Things to know:

  1. Admittance to the Beach Party and the Zone Challenge is through purchase of the meal ticket only.
  2. Access to the beach party is by bus transport only. This is included in the meal Ticket price.
  3. Kid pricing is available.
  4. As this is on a Military Base, adults must carry a valid ID for presentation upon request. DOD ID is preferable, if you have it.
  5. There are a few showers available to rinse off the salt and sand.
  6. Bring a hat and sunscreen (we hope to have some available). Beach towels and umbrellas would also be great to have.
  7. Bring a variety of clothing – swimsuits, shorts and t-shirts for the warmer part of the afternoon and a sweatshirt / windbreaker and pants for the cooler part of the evening. Once the sun goes down, the weather can cool off and become chilly.
  8. If you have a valid DOD ID card (active duty, retired, DOD civilian, etc.), please let us know during registration.
  9. For more information, please see the Beach Party page.

SeaWorld Extravaganza -- Wednesday

On Independence Day we will round out the day's activities at SeaWorld, the world famous adventure park, where you can enjoy an all-American barbecue with the dolphins and orcas.  The evening will end with an awesome fireworks ceremony, celebrating the birth of our nation.

This evening highlights the:

  • Michelin Awards Buffet

Things to know:

  1. Transportation will be provided.
  2. Meal ticket includes an all day pass to SeaWorld that is good for all the shows.
  3. You may get wet at some shows and activities. Be prepared for hot weather during the day and cool weather once the sun goes down.

Porsche Victory Banquet -- Thursday

We will wrap up this fantastic week in true Porsche style, hosting the Victory banquet on the flight deck of the majestic aircraft carrier, the USS Midway. This carrier had a distinguished 47 year career and is now a naval museum on scenic San Diego Bay.  We begin the evening with two hours to socialize and visit the numerous exhibits and displays of naval history and life as an aircraft carrier crewman.  Then we move to the flight deck for another fancy feast. With wonderful views of the San Diego waterfront we will dine al-fresco for our final meal together, the official closing of the 52nd Porsche Parade. We promise you an unforgettable evening, to top off an unforgettable week.

Things to know:
  1. Dress code is business casual.
  2. Flat soled shoes are recommend (this is a military vessel, after all, and it is easy to trip or break a heel in an aircraft tie-down).
  3. Outdoor seating.
  4. Something to help keep warm is recommended (it may be breezy).
  5. Transportation will be provided.
  6. Your meal ticket includes admission to the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.
  7. Parade Wine glasses will be distributed at the Concours Banquet, not here.
